Something Borrowed (2011)
It's a thin line between love and friendship.
If you have not watched Kate Hudson on the screen before, then this is the opportune time to do just that and the good news is that you will not regret. This romantic comedy is everything that you expect it to be, and especially if you have read the book after which this movie is adapted. The truth is that this is almost a 100% adaptation of the book by Emily Giffin that took the chick world by storm when she released the book in 2004.
Kate Hudson, who already has a resume that is brimming with very successful romantic comedy stars in this romantic comedy. If you loved her other escapades if you have seen them, you will love her even more for this. The good thing is that it premiers on 6 May 2011. It is wise to read Emily Giffin’s book first so that you can get it all in with a good flow. Although Kate does not fit the description of Darcy one little bit, you can be sure that she has pulled off a perfect job of the whole film.
The story is about two damsels who have a longstanding friendship between them. Darcy (Kate Hudson) has a fiancé to whom she is betrothed. Unknown to her, her fiancé Dex (Collin Egglesfield) was in the same law school with Rachel and of course Rachel has never told her that she has a long standing crush on Darcy’s boyfriend. The movie gets even more exciting when Rachel, on her thirtieth birthday has too much to drink and before she knows it, one thing leads to another and she finds herself in bed with Dex. Definitely, things are never the same again between Darcy and Rachel (Ginnifer Goodwin). There is a broken trust to boot, and so many romantic, or is it unromantic explosions and secrets.
Cast: Kate Hudson, Ginnifer Goodwin, John Krasinski
