X-Men: First Class (2011)
The story begins
X-Men: First Class is the story of two college friends who discover that they have so much in common. It is also the story of betrayal when later in life, their differences prove irreconcilable and from that juncture onwards, they pitch tents in opposite camps where each is trying to get the other. This results into two powerful factions fighting against each other. However, this is not your ordinary government vs. guerrilla affair, but it is a war between mutants and people with supernatural abilities. When Professor X and Magneto were both Charles Xavier and Erik Lensher respectively, they were the greatest of friends but now, the magneto brother hood is pitted against the indomitable Professor X’s X-Men.
Xavier and Lensher met at Oxford University where they were both students in the 1960s. He was a wealthy son of the wealthy English gentry while Lensher, who had been born in pre World War Two Germany as a Jew had watched as the Nazis gased his parents down in a concentration camp. His mutant ability to control metals and manipulate magnets allowed him to escape from one of the camps where he found his way to France. Later, one thing led to another until he landed a scholarship at the Oxford University where he met Charles Xavier.
When the two students hit it off straight away, they realized later that they both had special ability. They are later funded clandestinely by the American CIA to open the School of Mutant Resources to study people who have the extra mutant X gene and have preternatural powers. However, as the school advances, differences emerge. Xavier, now Professor X, wants free will among all humans. On the other hand, Magneto Lensher believes that he should put his ability to control minds to the core. Half of the students empathize with him while the other half falls in line behind Professor X.
